BIOGRAFIA.

Para aqueles que não conhecem, o som do Jane viaja entre rock progressivo, space rock e o hard rock setentista e é uma daquelas bandas que mesmo que reconheçamos influências de outras diversas bandas como, por exemplo, Eloy, Pink Floyd, Hawkwind e Deep Purple, faz um som com assinatura própria, sendo referência para muitas bandas, alemãs ou não, que surgiram depois deles. Durante toda a carreira as mudanças de formação foram muitas, com destaque para vários músicos, entre eles Klaus Hess (guitarras e vocais), Manfred Wieckzorke (teclados) e, principalmente, um dos fundadores e único que tocou em todos os discos, o baterista e vocalista Peter Panka. Estrearam com o aclamado ‘Together’ (essencial em qualquer coleção de prog) lançaram vários discos excelentes durante a década de 70; passaram por um período mais fraco nos anos 80 (aliás, como 99,99% das bandas de rock progressivo e afins) e na década de 90 só lançaram o disco ‘Resurrection’ e, mesmo assim, sob o nome Peter Panka’s Jane, numa primeira tentativa de reviver a banda. O século XXI foi mais generoso e vimos o Jane ressurgir com álbuns bem interessantes, que culminaram com o lançamento do ótimo ‘Voices’ em 2007, que prometia ser uma verdadeira retomada do melhor som que já haviam feito outrora. Infelizmente, em junho de 2007, Peter Panka faleceu e o futuro da banda agora é incerto, exceto pela possibilidade do lançamento de uma coletânea de raridades e de um DVD (com o provável nome de ‘PIntegranstesoenix’).
