BIOGRAFIA.

O Heart é mais conhecido por ser a banda das irmãs Ann e Nancy Wilson. Elas começaram a se envolver com música na adolescência. A primeira banda de Ann se chamou Ann and the Daybrakers. Não durou muito para ela perceber que esta banda não iria muito longe, assim sendo chamou a irmã que estava começando a tocar guitarra e foram para Vancouver no Canadá. Lá juntaram-se a Steve Fossen (b) e Roger Fischer (g) e gravaram o disco “Dreamboat Annie” em 1976. A faixa título foi bem recebida e a banda emplacou também “Crazy on You” que tinha uma levada mais rock n’roll.

Em 77 foi editado “Little Queen”. Nesta época já contavam com o baterista Michael Derosier como integrante fixo. “Little Quenn” trazia o maior hit da banda, “Barracuda”.

Seguiram-se mais dois álbuns: “Magazine” e “Dog e Butterfly”, ambos lançados em 78. Nesta época, Nancy e Roger começaram a ter um caso. O irmão de Roger, Mike Fischer, se envolveu com Ann e passou a ser manager da banda.

Em 80, durante as gravações do disco “Bebe le Strange”, Roger, que já não estava bem com Nancy, resolveu abandonar a banda… Howard Leese, que já vinha fazendo alguns trabalhos com eles, assumiu o posto oficialmente.

Após este álbum, a banda lança uma coletânea que fecharia a primeira fase do grupo.

Em 82, tentando seguir a tendência da época, eles lançam o disco “Private Audition”. O resultado deixa a desejar. Assim sendo eles entram em estúdio novamente e gravam “Passionworks”. Nesta época a banda contava com Mark Andes (B) e Denny Carmassi (D), mas apesar das novidades, eles não emplacavam mais nenhum hit.

Parecia que os anos 80 viriam para derrubar a banda, e como a maré estava ruim, Ann se juntou a Mike Reno e gravou uma canção para o filme “Footlose”.

Em 85, o contrato com a Epic chegou ao fim e a banda assinou com a Capitol. Uma nova fase se iniciou, a banda teve um recomeço… adotou uma nova postura, um novo visual. Seu primeiro álbum pela Capitol chamou-se apenas “Heart” e emplacou quatro hits: “If Looks could Kill”, “What About Love”, “These Dreams” e “Never”. Este álbum chegou ao número 1 das paradas.

O álbum seguinte, “Bad Animals”, chegou ao número 2 e trazia o hit “Alone”.

Em 90, a banda jogava “Brigade” na praça. O álbum trazia “All i Wanna do is Make Love to You”, e foi um grande sucesso, apesar da banda estar com uma levada mais dançante.

Após este álbum a banda dá uma parada. As irmãs se envolvem em projetos solo, e Nancy se casa com Cameron Crowe.

A gravadora ainda aproveita a onda para em 91 soltar um álbum ao vivo chamado “Rock the House”.

Em 1993 elas retornam e gravam “Desires Walks On”. Junto delas estavam Schuyler Deale (bass), John Purdell (keyboards), Denny Carmassi (drums) and Howard Leese (guitarra).

Em 95, lançam um álbum acústico , produzido por John Paul Jones, e em 97 mais um Greatest hits, mas desta vez abrangendo toda a carreira da banda.

Desde então o Heart não lançou mais nada oficial, e os músicos se dedicaram a outros projetos como trilhas sonoras e outras bandas como o Love Mongers. Em 2003 lançaram o álbum Alive in Seattle, em 2004 Jupiter’s Darling e Love Songs em 2006.
